Laws have to be responsive to the needs of the citizens and communities they apply to. Our Southeastern Pennsylvania community is being badly hurt by the absence of laws that effectively control, limit and punish the irresponsible and destructive purchase, sale and distribution of guns. Some people think that our Pennsylvania legislature will never pass meaningful gun control laws. I don't believe that is true. However, it will take a much more forceful, unified and powerful push by the citizens of Southeastern Pennsylvania and other communities than we have seen in the past, to make legislators aware that this is a top, non negotiable political priority. Women in our community, I believe, can definitely take the lead!
